Moving on, to a....

My E Class Coupe was a company vehicle and it's gone back to the big car pool in the sky.

I very much enjoyed living with this car with any gripes I had very minor in relation to an overall positive experience.

My work is very much centred around making highly specialised materials that are widely used in green energy (wind turbines, fuel cells etc.), so I felt I had to move away from diesel.

So, I now find myself driving a Jaguar iPace. It is completely different of course but is, so far, very enjoyable (and incredibly fast!)

I'm curious to see how Mercedes electric vehicle offering plays out - they do look promising, I just couldn't wait.

Of course, I still have my own SL350 in the garage so I will not be leaving this forum altogether.

Happy driving guys!

The iPace has longer range (in real life driving tests), is quicker and has better driving dynamics. I have the air suspension, which is much like the Mercedes equivalent.

Range is a major factor for an electric car and is therefore pretty high on the list of priorities.

From a personal point of view, in the UK at least, there is something a little bit special about driving a Jaguar, so I thought I’d give it a go.

However, I must say that the EQC looks nice.

In the US Jags have a poor reliability reputation and the dealers are few and far between. The closest Jag dealer is an hour away and it is a sideline to the dealer's major Asian brands.

I traded a '17 XJL in July. I consider it the most reliable car I've owned. Owned, at different times, two XK Jags and have the same opinion about them.

I had a 2014 Jag F-type purchased new. During the first 90 days of ownership it was sidelined 30 days for various electrical faults. The dealer had no idea what was wrong. Thank goodness for the Florida Lemon Law.

My E Class sedan (W213) twice went into some horrible limp mode while I was driving home on the motorway. It was very scary.

The dealer clearly didn’t trouble to find the fault the first time, so I was furious when it happened again a few days after they gave it back to me. We don’t have the Lemon Law here, but the lease company took the car back. I only had it for a few weeks in total.

Sometimes cars let us down, but I was more concerned about the dealer giving a dangerous car back to me. That is why I kept faith with Mercedes and got the E Class Coupe (and switched dealer).

Well the i pace is 2019 World Car of the Year. As much as i love the EQC, i also love the i pace. The styling is unique.
People often talk about the reliability of Jaguar, but honestly i see so many old Jags still on the road here in Melb Australia.
I am also looking forward to the upcoming EQE
Good to read about your SL.
Happy motoring
