very unhappy that that the. 2021 e350 dropped the luxury option with hood ornament
has anyone tried to add the hood ornament to the new model? Or will it look bad?
Thanks

Yes...I added it. Your MB dealership parts dept carries it. They installed it in 5 minutes....no charge.

I like it. Let’s me know with ease where the edge of the hood is (almost).

IMO it is a bit redundant to have that big star in the grill and a tiny star mounted just above it.

Could you post an outside of the car pic?

I like it!

Sure....it’s redundant. But I’m older....old guard! Tried it without...didn’t feel complete! Looked at leftover 2020 “Luxury” styling. Had the grill and vertical badge. The electronics felt dated...I was tired of the rear end styling....and the new steering wheel feels and looks quite good. Happier now!

Yes....that photo (above) was, in fact, taken from the driver’s seat. I’m 5’ 9”
I keep the seat raised....and I keep the “Seat Kinetics” on at all times (2021 MBUX function on “Comfort Settings.” It’s standard for 2021).

I think it looks great and you really shouldn't have to defend your choice.

Im divided here, I think the hood star looks great, the grill star looks great. But when both are there it just seems too much.

I think the luxury grill would be a better fit(as it is star-less) to go with the hood star.

Or making the grill star black

thats my 2 suggestions

Yes.....the alternative was to allow the flat badge to remain. As an FYI, it currently is sitting on the bar. Any ideas for it, perchance?

Currently...on bar!

Makes me happy! Enough of a reason, right?

I recently gave one away, my advice is to keep it as a trinket or pay it forward

Can someone post the exact part number of the badge? Mine is with flat black badge and for me it's incomplete without the rised star in front of your hood. I can use it as a sight optics where to hit the car in front

Here you go....bar code, along with part number. Ranges in price from $32 to $80. MB of Palm Springs is at $80....which is the highest of any dealership I checked out....and is totally commensurate with their absurd pricing, in general. So....shop around! Very easy to install.

Thank you very much. I will buy it from Ebay in Europe ( I live in Eastern Europe) and i find it at 34~40 euros which is 41 $ to 48,5 $ and it's reasonable price. I will check at my local dealer but i'm sure that the price will be much higher. I shop from official MB dealer from Newcastle, UK and he always gave very good prices. Will check him too. Do you have any video tutorials how to change it or guide how to do it ?

No videos...as I never searched. I went to my local dealer, the rip off one in Palm Springs, impulsively parted with the $80....and they switched out the badges in 5 minutes. At least the dealership did not bill me for that! Does not require any modification.

It’s a much better driving car now! 👌🤪

Separately, I like the shiny wood....actually it seems that almost all of the new E class cars are coming in with the open pore...took a bit of searching for this particular finish.

That looks great. I like the hood ornament too, it looks better with the sport grille than I thought it would.

Yes, it looks very nice, unlike piano black trim... It scratches very fast and you have to polish it or use a foil protection for it. I've found how to change the ornament on hood. Indeed it's very easy and it took only 5 mins. You only need a pliers and access to old ornament underneath the hood. Grab the ornament and twist it counterclockwise and voala the ornament pops-up. Then you just put the new ornament but before putting it to the hood you must rotate the locking mechanism counterclockwise too, to unlock it. Then put it through the hole and beneath the hood twist it clockwise and you are all done. Now you can mark the other cars more accurately

Grill + Hood

Hi,got a question about changing the grille.
I've got the Avantgarde version, slapped a hood ornament on it, and I'm looking to switch to the
"Luxury" grille. Do I need to swap out the bumper, or just the grille itself?
