E400/E450 Wagon Suspension difference with AMG package?
Hi All
looking to buy an e400 wagon for road trips and hauling doggo and house stuff
I’m looking at CPO pre e450 all terrain ideally without the AMG package to get the classic front end with the star on the hood. But they are rare…
my question is does the AMG look still come with the standard comfort suspension or does it come with stiffer suspension?
I ran VIN checks and the AMG look cars come with 677 AVANTGARDE/standard suspension whereas the classic comes with 485 Comfort suspension. I assume there is a difference?

We bought a luxury trim E400 for the same reasons. Spent a few months trying to find one we liked since that trim is uncommon, so I wound up learning lots about the configurations while we were hunting. The luxury trim only came with the comfort suspension (mid-height); the AMG trim only came with the sport suspension (lower). (I never ran VIN checks on any AMG trim cars, so I'm not familiar with the AVANTGARDE/standard code.) Both could get the Air Body option.
We wound up getting one with Air Body, and it's been great. I would've been fine with the comfort suspension, but the adjustable height is a nice bonus. Slightly better handling in sports mode, great ride in comfort, a little extra clearance for dirt roads with it elevated. (Fingers crossed that we don't see the maintenance headaches that some owners reported.)
