New E400d
I recently bought a very low mileage (less than 5k) E400d here in NZ. The E400d was/is not imported here officially - this one was an ex-UK car.
It has not been without issues - when I picked it up from the seller's yard, the Check Engine light was on. Turned out to be a sensor in the DPF that needed replacing. That had to come from Germany and took 4 weeks! That was done and en route home, I found I had no power and could not get out of 5th at about 50mph. Straight back to the dealer who pronounced that a software update was required (which software I do not know...!) but when I drove it back yesterday it was normal. There is a bit of a hot oil smell which I need to investigate - could be something spilled or wiped where it should not be when they did the DPF work perhaps.
I love the car and hope that this will be the end of the niggles. Annoyingly you cannot connect it to Mercedes Me in NZ because it is a UK sourced car and it refuses to allow you to connect - that seems mean spirited. Also I have to say that the standard equipment is not really where I would have expected it to be on a car with the top line diesel engine, Airmatic and 4Matic. No 360 camera, no blind spot, no radar cruise (although in NZ that is very much of limited use since we have no motorways worth the name). Does have Burmester sound, nappa 14 way seats, twin sunroof etc though.
I'll be checking in here from time to time and if anyone knows how to get the car connected so I can use live traffic on the Navigation that would be very handy!

As for Mercedes Me, I don't know if this will work in anyway but you may try using a VPN to download the Mercedes Me NZ app and then continue to use VPN (although always use a reputable one) to use Mercedes Me.
As for the in-car stuff, since you can't route the connection of the car to a VPN, it is unlikely this method will work.
I am not sure if there is live traffic on Google Maps and Waze in NZ but those two apps are generally better than the built-in navigation anyways, you can use them by connecting your smart phone.
I am hoping Mercedes Me isn't blocked for you because of a VIN regional limitation hence why you are having trouble connecting but did you ask your local dealership if they can figure out a way to make it work?

When your car was new, the UK dealer would have registered Mercedes Me and got this working in the UK. This registration and freebie-activated software can remain for 3 years. Is it possible this registration is still active and somehow blocking any attempts you might make to change it?
I bought our new car from a main dealer in Belgium. The car was not registered in that country but they did activate Mercedes Me. Thasnakfully it still works in the UK although the registration process is still ongoing. You have certainly purchased a nice car but a shame you did not get all the features you wanted
