Active Break Assist Malfunction

Active Brake Assist Malfunction
Had a rather unnerving experience yesterday evening. I was in an underground parking garage looking for a parking space, driving at crawl speed (10 - 15 km/h) when the car beeped and activated the brake assist feature. The car quite literally screeched to a halt and I could hear the ABS activating.
I got out the car, nothing in front, it was a straight road - no impediments of any kind. The sensors were clean (no bugs, dust etc)
I will take the car in to have it checked and perhaps have the sensors recalibrated.
Anyone else on here had similar issues?
