Engine Sound Question on V6 Bi-turbo

Greetings,

Comments appreciated. I'm new to the "400" V6 Bi-turbo engine, actually all turbo engines.

Few days ago on a very quiet night, I took a drive with both windows down. When I came to a stop sign I noticed that when I decelerated, I heard a sort of hissing "diesel" like (but quieter) sound from the engine. When I came to a full stop, I only heard the engine idle. I accelerated - no noise, then decelerated and I heard the sound again until I came to a full stop. No rattles, shakes, vibrations, jerking, etc. - only that sound. Did not notice on busy streets.

I watched some car reviews on youtube and heard the same sound. I guess this is normal, but what the hell is it? Turbo spooling down??

My guess is good as yours...maybe blow off - I'm thinking maybe its normal sound of these engines lol. Cars running fine with no codes.

My V6 SL makes the same noises when I decelerate to a stop. Dealer tells me it's"normal". Blames it on high pressure direct injection.

Yeah, I think it's "normal" is well...LOL - seems these engines makes those sounds whether SL or E. Mine is not in the range of the timing chain issues, so I'm gonna move on and drive.

Thanks rmorin49 your feedback!
