Kick plate fallen off

Hi,

What I think is called the kick plate, i.e. the metallic plate that says 'Mercedes Benz' on it on the door sill, has fallen off on my car leaving a plastic version exposed underneath. I can't tell how it was supposed to be fixed - there's no sign of any failed glue or similar, does anybody know please? I'm wondering if I could glue it back on again or if I have to order a new one (~£30 I believe).
Thanks in advance for any advice anybody has.

Looks like the part separated, cover came off base. Part in its entirety is mounted with double sided tape. I would suggest gluing cover back in place. If you choose to replace I believe part # is 2056800035, need VIN to confirm.

Thank you for the responses. The dealer here claims it's not covered by my (extended) warranty. I have now glued it in place - it seems OK, so fingers crossed it stays in place. If anybody ever does the same, be very careful with the glue - the plate is on a slope and the glue was runnier than I had anticipated so I nearly got glue all over the door frame!.

I ran into a similar situation today. What glue did you use? Did it last long?
