U19 Option installed from factory but no Augmented Reality?
Hi,
So picked up today a E-Class Estate. Due to the chip shortage, instead of waiting for a "half the options requested" order, found a dealer with stock that had almost everything that I wanted.
One of those options was augmented reality. U19 option is on the datacard, but there is no augmented reality available in the navigation. The options 355 - Extended MBUX functions , 513 - traffic sign assist are also installed (and operational).
Any ideia if there should have been something other option installed for AR to work?
what do you mean by data card? is this the VIN printout?
if not, you might want to check that
A dealer in the Netherlands told me that augmented reality can be retrofitted in case "code 118" is present on the car (though i don't know what this code stands for ?)
He told me some cars are shipped with this code and some aren't - it's random
Yes, datacard is the document with all the options associated with the VIN. Option 118 is also there, but nothing available for augmented reality - no option in navigation->advanced options, no camera icon on the nav display. Should it have been programmed during pre-delivery at the dealership?
then i think this is something that can/will be installed as soon as the parts are available
In you mercedes me account; is there an option to add a dashcam ? (this is a paid option that is only available if you have AR)
btw, can you advise me what option 118 is ?
I'm waiting for my delivery (they started building my car a month ago, but still not completed due missing parts)
and am preparing myself to make sure the car will be exactly as ordered...

There is the problem! The camera is missing.
You need to ask the dealer to install it when it becomes available. I think it's a complete new windshield.
Since you have everything else required for this feature, the new windshield should definitely be a no-cost replacement. I guess there was a shortage of them, so you should ask your dealer to get one on order for you.

It must be it then. Possibly sent from the factory with option U19 selected but not installed, to be rectified at the dealer, but nothing there still. Guess a visit is in order to check it. Thanks for the help

-Vehicles past changeable status that were built without U19 Augmented Video for Navigation and 21U Dashcam will receive credit via codes D6K and D6L. These vehicles will be eligible for retrofit and handled via a service campaign at a later date. An additional NCU will be issued by Vehicle Compliance & Analysis once sufficient parts are available.
-Vehicles in changeable status were updated to remove U19 Augmented Video for Navigation and 21U Dashcam from the configuration. The DF8 Multimedia Package Lite was added as a replacement for the models which offer U19 as part of the DA5 Multimedia Package
If you have code D6k or D6L on your build sheet then a retrofit will be possible at some point.

I don't see the codes U19,DF* or DA5

I am having same issue and with similar data sheet with Code 118. Any idea when your car will be fit retrofitted?
