W213 AIRMATIC question

Hi Guys,

I have a small question to all users of E class (W213 ) with airmatic.
Do you hear anything in cabin when compressor responsible for lifting the car is working?
Why I'm asking. I have '21 E400d (diesel) equipped with AIRMATIC system. Recently I have started to hear typical sound of compressor while lifting the car or self-levelling it.
Today I was visiting dealership to place complaint about that, but they have checked airmatic system, checked modules, computer, compressor and told that everything is fine and it works as it should.
Problem is that I have made 12k miles with this car and now I'm hearing this sound when car is lifting (earlier it was completely inaudible).
Will be great to hear any answer from you.
Best regards

I cannot remember if the W213 has a pressure reservoir, at least the W212 Airmatic did. In that case the compressor does not run every time the suspension height is increased. If you open the door, you can hear the compressor run. Obviously when the doors are closed, hearing the compressor depends on the noise in the cabin (music, tyre noise or traffic noise). Not that easy to hear the the compressor in normal traffic but it is there.

Thanks for your answers.
As far as I know also W213 has pressure reservoir which is combined with the Kompressor.
when I want to raise the suspension height with the button on the console always compressor will work to make a pressure and lift the whole car with few cm.
pressure reservoir is required for stabilizing pressure at normal driving/braking or standard tilts of the vehicle body.
in my car it is easy to hear when compressor is working. Even when radio/music is played.
I will upload here video with this “sound”.

This is one of the hidden advantages of being half-deaf.

All those types of 'background nose" are now inaudible.

If I really listen, I can hear the car "air up" after it has been parked for a while. (Really only a few seconds and only after it's parked for several days or more...) But it's a very subtle noise and you really need to listen for it.
