Should I lease a 2022 E53 or pay $160k for a used 2021 E63S?

While is is really a nice car - if I had a dime for every time Ive thought I should have gotten the V8...I'd have a lot of dimes. A.lot.of.dimes....Plus I just dont need a car this large, we dont have any kids.

Good for you! I wish I had a V8
That was my biggest concern :/. I knew that even if I had all the options I wanted, it would be missing the magic of a proper engine.

For me personally has to do with C-Class C 63 not having 4MATIC over a C 43. For you that isn't a concern since everything (E 53 and E 63) has 4MATIC plus you might not need 4MATIC in the first place.
I am looking forward to hearing your experience with the test drive, try to do a longer test drive and don't rush it to really see if you need or want the V8.
Good luck with your selection!

The W213 48V/'EQ Boost' should not be confused with a 'conventional' hybrid drivetrain. The starter/generator and relatively small 48V battery power the starter, water pump, AC, and power steering, as well as eliminating a turbo, to offer the same power as the V6 E450, more smoothness, more efficiency, and eliminating the accessory drives. And the system runs the supercharger in the E53. Plus they are in-line 6 engines. Overall, more of a "pure statement of what an ICE car can be", IMO.

Not at all the same as a 'conventional' hybrid with two, IMO redundant, powertrains.

it is especially nice in stop and go traffic, since I can creep along on battery only. Unlike an ICE , I get better gas mileage in stop and go traffic.

Any car you buy now would lose quite a bit in a year or two but this one would lose the least.

Yes I am aware that, I meant PHEV and I thought Elvisfan0108 also meant actual hybrids, I am aware of the differences of the M256 and the M276 you talked about.

Thanks for your comment though I am sure your information helps others who might not be aware, which is a great thing : )

Ah I see, yup I can see how it would save a lot indeed in those situations, which is a nice benefit. Plus if you care about the environment pure electric in stop and go traffic reduces emissions too.

The mild hybrid's motor by itself on the facelift E 450 can't propel the vehicle so such benefit doesn't exist in stop and go traffic if the internal combustion engine is stopped and then started (the emissions reduction part), smoother start is still a benefit though.

Very nice, however this is an AMG discussion. I doubt mileage is important if OP is considering a 63.

Fair enough and I am sorry that I got off topic.
