Dropped by Mercedes Benz of Music City on Thursday to pick up my window shade for the wagon; sitting in the show room was this lovely Ferrari F40. Seems that there will be a Ferrari dealer opening here, owned by the same group that owns the MB dealership, and they brought the car in for the announcement, which will be officially made at Amelia Island. This particular car was headed to the Palm Beach Cavallino, and then on to Amelia to be auctioned. Superb example, likely never driven in earnest. Just wanted to share with some fellow gear-heads; have a great weekend!

My grandson is going to Belmont and his folks just bought a condo in Nashville, as a second home and as an investment. Their neighbors here in Orange County just moved there, permanently. It seems that everywhere I turn these days, I hear “Nashville this and Nashville that.” Now a Ferrari dealership! Looks like that town is on fire! I’ve never been there, but always wanted to visit The Ryman and go to the Ernest Tubb Record Shop. Actually, I wanted to hear Ernest and George Jones at The Ryman, but I was a day late & a dollar short doing that. That said, my wife tells me that a visit to Music City IS going to happen. We’ll see.

You have an open offer for lunch / brunch should you ever find yourself in our town. That being said, about 65% of home buyers in our neighborhood over the past three years are from California, Washington state, Chicago, and New York; quite the exodus to the Volunteer State, the newcomers now blending with the associated hill-billies who inhabit the environs. As we share with our new neighbors: to paraphrase the late, great, Lewis Grizzard, "Ya'll can move South, you can marry our women; you can drink our whiskey. But please don't try to tell us how you did things in Cleveland". Yes the landscape has shifted in the area, some for the better, and the balance? We shall see. But come on down / over, spend lots of money and keep our state income tax level as it is today: zero %.

We stopped in Nashville on the way home from Florida a few years ago. Downtown Nashville was hopping. Music everywhere. The CM HALL OF FAME. We aren’t really country fans but we enjoyed it. Never saw so many people on just a regular day, and I’m from Chicago. We spent a day at the Grand Old Opry. Could have skipped that and spent the whole extra day downtown.
Don’t know what if any effect Covid has had.
We were in NashVegas last month for a wedding (we have an office there I go several times a year) and drove up to Columbia to visit the Wife's cousin. I thought I missed the boat on Nashville/Brentwood lets see what you can get in a house 40 mins. out of town. Amazing. A little bit cheaper, but not much...
