Performance chips?

Good morning. I'm looking for recommendations on performance chips. Have an 2017 E400 long roof purchased last summer. Really wanted the AMG version but common sense told me not to go that route. In any event, while the engine in this car is pretty quick, I'm interested in something a bit faster. Have perused a couple of the web sites that sell chips, but would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this engine and whatever chip you installed. Comments on installation difficulty, performance and mileage would be great. Thanks!

Steve

I would search the overall forum for M276 tuning. Note that there are two M276 engines, the 3.5 NA and the engine you have the M276 DELA 30 3.0 biturbo. There are several models that have the biturbo, C/A207, W212, etc. Renntech, OETuning and Eurocharged are amongst the most common. At one point Dinan had a piggyback option. Good luck.

Got a friend, who works for a MB dealership, that put a RaceChip setup on his E450; he is very satisfied with the install, as well as the performance: https://www.racechip.us/

I’m currently thinking to add this to my car as the CPO warranty period is finished already.

However there are many different brands to choose and the price difference is vast.

For example, Lorinser or Brabus chip kit cost 1500 euros but other chip brand like racechip or something else offers between 500-900 euros.

Does the price difference justify the gain ? Because the gain that is written is all around similar.

Car & Driver tested the 2022 E450 All Terrain wagon and was very impressed with the acceleration and fuel economy of the car.
0 to 60 time was 4.4 seconds which is FAST. Fuel economy is 22/28.
For comparison, back in 1970, the Plymouth Road Runner equipped with the mighty 426 Hemi did 0 to 60 in 5.6 seconds.

The current model has about 34 more gallopers up front, and yes, 4.4 is quick. My version was tested by C/D at 5.0 flat, so not exactly slow. But when did you ever not wish for a bit more.

A bit more for me was an R231 SL550 in the garage: that is the 'bit more' that I seek R231 performance is quite underrated IMO; that motorcar will provide all you wish, unless you prefer Nomex!

Perhaps one day an E63 AMG Wagon; my Holy Grail!

Gone, but most certainly not forgotten. Lunar Blue.

Sorry to bring up a long ago looked at post, but did you happen to find a brand that you purchased from? Thanks.

Hi,

Nothing done yet as I still on the fence about its effectiveness. I found out this video on YouTube and it made me wonder about the Brabus or Lorinser one too. I will do more research first about this and probably opt out for ECU reflash or something similar done by professional instead tuning box.
On the other side, I got a word from one of Mercedes Benz technician from Germany and working at Mercedes dealership in Germany, he found out some customer's car using Brabus chip during services and it doesn't interfere with the warranty. I hope some technician from US or other county in this forum can shed a light on this warranty matter.
