should command software be updated during certification?

Hi, new 2017 E300 driver. I was reading the software updates thread and decided to check my version. I am at 0.61. Should the latest version be installed during the certification inspection? Are the command features covered under the CPO warranty? If i say the nav is freezing up, will that be enough for them to upgrade me to 6.80?
thanks in advance

Ya likely is enough for them, as nav freezing can be fixed by software update.

For that certification inspection (PDI) here is the a the form posted by another forum member here:

As for CPO checklist here are the items:

I'm actually not up to speed on the subversions of NTG 5.5, but your car won't be eligible for the very latest version, because starting with MY2019 MB changed from mBrace to Mercedes me connect, so the later versions of NTG 5.5 would only be for 2019+ vehicles. Those vehicles also support OTA updates, so any updates to COMAND would be pushed out as an OTA update. There hasn't been one. Only map updates, voice recognition updates and a recall update for the HERMES communication module. If there are updates for your VIN, they should have been installed as part of the scheduled maintenance. It should come up in their system if there's an update for your VIN.

Only function tests are required for CPO certification. However, as mentioned you can request software upgrade(s) under CPO warranty claiming intermittent functionality dealer should check for current version(s) and update. In addition, MBUSA released two Service Campaigns have dealer check VMI to see if your VIN is affected.

If direction(s) given are wrong, or not working properly because of older version you can argue for update to current version. Otherwise, it would be dealer discretion.
