2nd Merc after 14 years the Jags

So I enjoyed the W212 so much I fancied an upgrade, found one with dual 12.3" screens and couldn't help myself. My god does it drive nice and I thought the old one was good.

More mods will be coming to this thread so keep you eye out

I didn't know you could get one of these without any sunroof. I thought they forced you to get at least the smaller one.

Not in Europe...seems like the OP is in Britain.

Right, that makes sense. Since there's no sun what's the point? Or they call it a Moon Roof.

Think I've only seen 2/3 for sale while I've been looking the past few months, quite rare in the E220

So it was easy for you to determine if it was 12.3" instead of the smaller 10 inch?. I imagine if you looked at a couple cars with the 12.3", and then the smaller screen it would be easy to differentiate.

There's a big difference the smaller screen is surrounded by plastic, just doesn't look right imo, isn't the smaller screen 7" not 10?

I believe the easiest way to tell is that the driver side's display is actually analog, unless in Europe you can upgrade to a digital screen driver side and still having the same infotainment screen size, which you have to upgrade again before you get a full dimension setup for both displays (the one you have).
Edit: To help explains what I am asking:

Thanks

I'm a bit confused about these options you describe, but there's also dual digital 'small'. That analog is remarkable, but anything less than 2 x 12" digital displays, I will have a problem.

But according to my VIN there's nothing on it to suggest there's an issue, but I won't be surprised if there is.

I see, thanks for your answer. You answered my question and my confusion on if you could option the smaller display yet still have the same size infotainment screen as standard with analog gauges.
I am from Canada and we didn't have that option, it is either the standard or the highest upgrade one so wasn't sure if it was the same for Europe.

congrats! I was wondering what made you jump over to a 213 when you had a 212 for only 2 years? the 212 looked amazing with your mods. Ive never driven a 212 but im sure its very nice. What made you make the switch? Cant wait to see your mods to the 213.

Unfortunately I can never seem to keep a car for to long no matter how good it is. The W212 was an excellent car mine had only done 36k when I bought it, still felt like new. The interior had a really nice solid feeling to it.

I then drove the W213, fell in love with the interior instantly. The ride has a quality to it that makes you feel like your in something higher end then you actually are, I knew this would be my upgrade path.

Boot spoiler and grill on order, booked in for caliper paint end of the month.

If you like the look of AMG replacement grills, etc., then go for it.

Personally, I would never "rebadge" my car: Mine is an E450 and that is what it says on the trunk. Never understood putting AMG badges on a non AMG car.

Banged some spacers on today, 12 front 15mm rear nicely beefed up the looks imo....

Made the jump up to 20" alloys today with a wider rim. Also used my old 12mm front spacers on the rears, opinions are welcome, was going to space out by 5mm but my bolts weren't right so stuck the 12's on till I got some more but quite liking the aggressive stance (20X9.5 ET42 + 12mm)

I would say to dial down the rear spacer to 5mm or 10mm max. The stance is not too bad on current setup, but methinks the rear does protrude a tad to impact the look some… perfect line to fender will be about 5mm spacer.

But I love your overall mods… these are inspirational for me and exactly what I plan for mine… except I ordered the E53 AMG diffuser and tips… and like you, I will make a mod thread when my car and mod parts arrive…

Got a long piece of wood earlier and rang it flush to the alloys, the top of the wood is quite literally 1/2mm away from the arch, it's pretty much bang on flush, not going to loose any sleep over that I don't think.
The AMG diffuser is by far the best mod so far, took some fitting though
