I haven't seen any reports that the Ottocast will change the MBUX display. it seems that this option for full screen display works with the Comand operating systems. MBUX shrinks both CarPlay and AA. But if you've seen otherwise let us know.

I am also curious if you or anyone has seen any of the other issues that I am seeing - see prev post above. The contacts not being handled properly for outgoing calls etc is really bad but the others are also odd and frustrating as well.

I agree that with the large android auto space on the right it looks ridiculous.

Do you mean the different tabs and rounded edges? That's the new cakewalk android auto update that is rolling out to everyone, you can disable the tabs through settings if you prefer the previous AA screen setup.

I've said it before I'll say it again...this is probably the best and cleanest option on the market. Plus it doesn't limit you, you get the full function of a tablet. I get more live channels in my car than 95% of the population does in their homes with my Xfinity service.

If you have a Comand W213 and not an MBUX W213 you can buy the Ottocast U2-X Pro wireless dongle and it will give you a full screen as an option. But absent that I know of know of a way to get full screen by directly plugging in.

Does anyone know an alternative to Ottocast for enabling wireless AA with fullscreen (by emulating carplay)
I had a terrible experience with the Ottocast U2-X PRO and looking for an alternative.
Does anyone know if Carlinkit or AAwireless support this?
Thanks!

The OP asked about Full Screen AA. I have seen no report that Motorola MA1 enables full screen support for Android Auto. And I personally know that AAWireless doesn't.

MBWorld Fanatic!
You are correct, I should have read more carefully. The MA1 works great if you do not mind the AA portion on the screen. It is annoying. That said I haven't read a review where the Android OS modules work consistently (I use an Android phone daily, that DOES work consistently.)

Does anyone have experience with Carlinkit 5.0 (2 air) on an NTG 5.5 system in terms of running fullscreen?
Carlinkkit 4.0 worked by streaming the image from Android Auto over the CarPlay protocol (and we have full screen), and version 5.0 already has the Android Auto protocol implemented and I'm afraid that full screen may no longer work.
I am thinking of buying between two products Ottocast U2-X Pro or Carlinkit 5.0 (2air) and I am looking for the advantages of both products.

I had a terrible experience with the Ottocast U2-X Pro on my W213 2017 so I wouldn't recommend it at all. If the Carlinkkit supports full screen AA I'd be willing to try it.

I wonder for those who have AAWireless, does changine the DPI configuration in the AAWireless app displays full screen & gets rid of the ridiculous AndroidAuto logo?

AA Wireless now has an update that let's you get full screen on W213 Comand with your Android phone using Carplay settings. Plus AAWireless comes with an app that allows you to do updates and troubleshooting as well as other settings. Mine specifically asked if I had a Mercedes. I set it up and the image is sharp and boot time is decent. Especially after when you stop and start between errands it can take as little at 10 seconds.
And unlike the price tag of the Ottocast dongle, it is quite attractively priced.
