Knocking noise at low speed
I drove into DC for work and during heavy traffic (crawling speed) the car was making knocking noise and I could feel the knocking gently through the steering wheel and the bottom of my feet.
The knocking happened when I am crawling at 5-10mph, right when I let go of the accelerator. When I apply consistent pressure on accelerator to accelerate out of the crawl or consistent pressure on the brake to come to a slower speed or stop, there is no knocking.
So, to summarize, at low speed, when I let go of the accelerator, the car expectedly jolts gently, because of the letting go of the accelerator and that is when I hear a knock. Almost sounds like the knock is happening during gear engaging(?) or throttle opening/closing.
I will be taking the car to an indy MB shop sometime next week but I would like to ask here to get an idea of what this could be before.
Thanks in advance!
