Windshield Replace
So I have a 2018 Mercedes E300, base model with a little upgrades to it. It's not solar coated, I don't have lane assist, and there is no heads up display.
It does however, have these two triangles for other things liked showed below:
I have comprehensive coverage, so the windshield should be in there. I found a quote on Safelite for $510 without going through insurance which isn't that bad. The next day, they came out with a third party, after market windshield. I sent them away because I thought it was an OEM, not an after market. They ended up calling me back and telling me that it's around a $2,000 windshield (Mercedes dealer quoted me the same price) and my insurance will require a $1,500 deductible for it.
That seems unreasonably high as I've had an Alfa Romeo before with the lane keep features and everything and it only cost me a $300 deductible. Should I wait because of the current prices of everything at the moment or is this just a typical Mercedes price for a windshield of this model?
