Build quality complaint part deux

Last time it was the plastic buttons falling off (had the car for 4 days to replace some buttons)…told me the trim around the door handle that’s falling off isn’t covered by CPO. Good thing I have another 2.5 years of coverage….

anyways…today I look over and notice something odd. Upon further inspection, the black paint or whatever that is on the trim panel is wearing away! It’s not wood! Lol. Wtf! If I rub it with my finger it gets worse! That panel never gets touched other than a wipe down at the car wash. The car is garaged at home and at work…so minimal time in the sun…

it’s unfortunate that they have gone the route of trading on their name instead of the actual quality they were known for. I’ve had a MB in the garage for 22 years now…Unless something changes and it doesn’t look like that’s the direction they are going…this will probably be my last.

Apple can sell an inferior phone to android in terms of specs but they keep their build quality top notch and so can trade on their name. I don’t see how any long term supporter of your brand doesn’t get turned off by this lack of quality…

beleive it or not…I may get rid of this thing and get a Hyundai….can’t believe that even came out of my mouth. But ****…it’s 2022 and those Genesis vehicles are absolutely something to consider…..

Agree. MB is junk quality and the company is cashing in on brand equity built by pre-W220 models.

Looks like the stain is coming off the wood veneer, might have been a thin layer of stain. The Mercedes wood trim quality is not what it use to be, real wood is nearly impossible to find now a days on car interior trims but it sure seems like the veneers are getting thinner now a days. The matte finish on the trim might not have help protect the color coat.
