E450 isn’t AMG but CLS450 is an AMG. Why is this?

I am a newbie here who just purchased a CPO 2020 E450 4MATIC. For awhile I was eyeing the C450 which was a 2016 model year release and since discontinued by MB, but when purchase time came, chose the E bcos we already have a 5-series and want to keep similar size car.

This got me wondering why the 2016 C450 was badged as an AMG, but the E sibling never got that badge. Then realized the CLS450 is also badged an AMG. These 450 models all are V6 TT motor, so why are the C and CLS models badged AMG but not the E? Sure the E has the 53 and 63 true AMGs, but ditto the C (43/63 only) and the CLS (53/63), so why not the E?

Appreciate your responses to better educate me.

The C450 became the C43 in 2018. It and the 2016GLE 450 were considered extra lite AMG models for marketing purposes.. The E43 and E53 are the AMG models and were/are sold alongside the E450. CLS450 is not an AMG model. The CLS53 was but is no longer offered in the US.
