Cylinder head material
Hi All,
First timer Mercedes owner and I ve discovered some dodgy mechanics when investigating a glow plug light. Basically when the plugs have been changed one of the plugs has been snapped. instead of using the proper removal tool the top of the glow plug has been drilled out but unfortunately this has not been done centrally the glow plug shaft hole which goes into the cylinder, and its been drilled to big for a new tread to be tapped to receive a new plug.
Easiest was I feel to get round this is to plug weld the hole and start again with the correct removal tool once the hole has been drilled in the correct place.
My question is does anyone know what material is the cylinder heads made from so I can purchase the correct welding rods / wire.
