2017 4matic or no?

I live in Georgia and looking for a used 2017 or newer e-class. I found one that is optioned that way I want but is not 4matic. This is an around town car that will at most be used to commute 30 miles one way once or twice a week. What are the pros and cons of not getting the 4matic since I’m not in snowy inclement weather.

The 2017 model 4Matic has several points that show wear at rather low mileage. Examples the bearings for the axle that goes through the oil pan and the front propeller shaft related issues.

Obviously 4Matic is good in slippery conditions, mostly ice and snow but even on wet roads (or dry roads with the very high power models). One can save a fraction of a second for more useful things in life.

2WD and winter tyres will be far better than 4wd and sumer tyres. Fuel economy will likely be 10% worse with 4wd model over the 2wd.

You do not need 4matic, in the rain it my help a bit but hard to justify the extra cost, weight and reliability just for that.
