"Random" Misfire code on brand new E450 with 200 miles

When I picked up my new E450 All-Terrain and drove up the street, immediate a warning light came on telling me to shut off engine asap. I returned to the dealership and got a loaner. Later that day they returned it with a new valve. One week later, the car started shaking, and when I pulled over I noticed the engine warning light. The car was towed. I'm now told they found a "random" misfire code, but they don't know what cylinder or why. I make long drives and am quite concerned about this. Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so, what was the outcome?

Did they give you a service detail sheet when you picked it up after the first issue? The reason I ask is "a new valve" isn't exactly clear. Plus I would expect it to take them longer than a couple hours to replace a valve in the head, get an assessment of the root cause and drive it enough to be sure that that fixed the issue. Do you mean a coil? One is significant surgery and the other is a couple stitches (one screw and pop it out/pop in a new one).

What valve did the dealer replace? Misfiring could be cause by many things, anywhere from a bad injector to a cracked block, hope yours is something minor.

I will ask for a detail on the service that occurred on the day I purchased the car. I know that they took the "valve" off another vehicle so that I wouldn't have to wait for the part.

They should have erased all stored codes and pull current codes using Xentry (MB diagnostics), request results.
