P0128 Coolant Temp Code

Ive done a lot of searching online and I understand it is probably the coolant temperature sensor gone bad. Funny thing is that it seems to be a common problem on older gen Mercedes, and I dont see a thread specifically for the 213. Anyone else have had issues with this? Code came on at 80K miles, 7 years of ownership. Cost to replace at dealer? TIA

for what it’s worth, I noticed that the coolant gauge never reached the mid point, just a tick below and the engine temp never reached over 200 degrees according to the Navi engine temp screen. I have no other equipment to check for accuracy. On the freeway, engine temp hovers around 190

Could be thermostat stuck open, engine doesn't get hot fast enough. Happened on my W212 E63, thermostat and included housing replaced under warranty.
