If your dealer is charging $325 for the "A" service, as I pointed out in my post, that is 50% more than we pay in the NYC area at a Mercedes Dealer.
A big city like NYC has more MB dealers around, more competition. We are in a small town, the nearest MD dealer is half an hour away, the next 2 are an addition hour drive, each way. I prefer the closest MB dealer, even if a service cost $325.

So the standard A service is $325 but they didn't upcharge you at $350?
Guess you missed the point, this was an A1 50,000 mile service, no up-charge or “Recommended Items and Procedures” including spark plugs, etc.
Yeah, expensive oil and filter change but again, if I want to save money I do it myself, or go to Pep Boys, $325 did not break the bank, only $$ I have paid to service this
vehicle in almost 2 years.

Well Florida is in a different universe - not a different world from New York:

Just for fun I called Daytona Mercedes for a quote on the "A" service: $325 (what you posted)

I then called Mercedes of Jacksonville: the quote for the "A" service was $630. I then asked for the quote for the "B" service $1350!

Just checked with my dealer Rallye Motors for the "A": $250

see: https://www.rallyemotors.com/service-specials/

WOW!

Just went back to the beginning of this thread and found your post #11.
"Talked to my local Indy shop, $133.00 for the A service, no mention of additional items, same with the MD dealer, but $325 for the basic A service.
Guess I answered my question, those are the going rates for 2023"
I guess you decided to go with Mercedes and pay nearly three times as much as your own indy shop.

Not wasting any more time on this: You already knew the answer before your posts.

Here in the Seattle region, the A service is in the 350$ range. I guess that’s the WA-state surcharge for essentially an oil change and fluid top-off. Back in OH, it was significantly lower.

Well, I didn’t because this was a 50,000 mile service, not just the basic A..
Nobody else knew how much the A1 @ 50k would be, not even the SA: he had the tech look at the car and decide what was needed
vs what was “Required” as per the 213 Service Sheet.
I knew how much for the basic A, but this one was more, kind of bracing for a sticker shock.

Good job calling the dealers in Florida, you must be really into this thread.

There are time-based service items, mileage-based, and wear-based. 50,000 mile service items are to be done at 50,000 miles, not the fifth annual service...which is just a time-based 'A' when you have low miles. I guess I'm surprised you're surprised the dealer was honest about this. Still don't understand how they got to $350 for a $325 'A' service and that you're pleased enough to post about it. I guess you are satisfied they looked up under the car at more things? No need to respond. Glad you're happy.

I am pleasantly surprised there are honest dealers, yes you are correct on that one.
Being an old fart I have a few horror stories behind me, MB and other brands.
The A service was an A1, which is additional stuff, but not sure what, no details given and neither MB USA nor google could tell exactly what additional items
would be included in the A1 hence I reached out on forums like this, like learning from each other you know, but there is always somebody that knows it all and comes back with snarky replies.
As for time based and milage based, in many cases it is whatever comes first. (Again I was not sure, this is only my second MB)
The $350 was after taxes and shop supplies, more like $376 , but they had a “special” on the website that knocked off $25.00 if you spend more than $300.00 for service, go to MB of Daytona Beach and look at their website.
Hope this cleared it up, sorry for the confusion.

I see your are in Florida. Last time I checked things were much cheaper in Florida than New York City.

Perhaps a different dealer would be to your economic advantage?

If NorseWagon is happy, that's all that counts. No need to harangue him on this price or that one. Value is more important than price.

Finally someone with common sense.
This was not a thread on finding the cheapest service in New York vs Florida.
Some of us are happy to pay what it cost and if we couldn’t afford it we should get a cheaper ride, not an S213.

This is from the MB Extended Warranty contract. It says "Mileage intervals". Still, I won't go over twice the time interval for specific items.

4.3. You are required to service Your Vehicle at the mileage intervals
specified in the Service Information Booklet for the Vehicle. These
services help assure the proper operation of the Vehicle.
4.4. Failure to follow the required Mercedes-Benz service maintenance
schedule using specified materials, fluids, and parts, at the
specified intervals could cause vehicle damage not covered by this
Agreement.
4.5. In no event shall any repairs or replacements made under this
Agreement constitute any extension, amendment, or modification
of the term of the Vehicle Warranty, the Term of this Agreement, or
any part thereof.
