W213 original AMG Performance steering wheel - Happiness on two fronts
The steering wheel is easily one of the most important things about a car, at least from the driver’s perspective, because it’s the main way we interact with our ride, isn’t it? Does anyone else feel like this is where the handling starts? I mean maybe it’s placebo, or depends on the model, but I always feel something is changed when driving after an upgrade, even if the previous steering wheel was absolutely fine.
Swapped the original steering wheel on this facelift W213 with an AMG Performance version, and the driver was happy for the two most popular reasons: looks and feeling.
The Alcantara version feels just right in your hands, with a more ergonomic grip, and the large metallic gear paddles are comfortably reachable. The whole upgrade makes the interior look high-end. Although the metallic parts and the Alcantara leather are practically matte, there are moments when you can see some subtle reflections from the other colors in the car. They play off of each other quite nicely! It just looks so darn good!
This part uses the original airbag and buttons.
The trim design will display the AMG logo at the bottom.
Playing with the airbag is no joke so make sure you know what you're doing.
