So, here is the final close on this topic. I got the car back. Mercedes dealership replaced the 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, and everything worked again. However, I am very skeptical if they actually did. I asked them for the old screen, which they did not give. They updated my software from 5.80 to 6.8x, and this is a great update in my view. I will share all the nuances in the other update thread. Much better colors on screen and head up display. Charges went to around 5k.

I always buy a Certified used Mercedes and the 2 year extension. With the new electronics, I think this is the only way to go with any car with so much electronic control.
