Recall of
the fuel pump (impeller) may shutdown, which can result in a loss of drive power
Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for more than 143,000 cars and SUVs because their fuel pumps can fail, causing their engines to shut down while driving.
I called my MB dealer and asked if the recall parts for my E450 would in stock. They affirmed it. I brought the car in 3 days later on Monday A.M. They kept the car till Friday. I call them to see if the car was repaired. They informed me that the fuel pump part was actaully NOT in stock and NOT available for weeks. I picked up my car the next day on Saturday. MB service and parts acquisition are questionable and not reliable in this case.

Please name this dealer so others can be aware of this incompetence.

Kind of ridiculous that you make an appointment for a very specific recall and they don’t bother ordering the parts until you drop the car off. One would think they would stock a decent number parts especially early in the recall when lot of customers will be going in to address this.
