Airbag Recall - E Class 2011

Good afternoon,

I received a letter from Mercedes around a year ago advising me of an airbag recall and that mine was to be replaced at my nearest Mercedes dealer.

Since then, I have had my car at an independent garage to fix an unrelated wiring issue. The garage informed me that the airbag unit is flagging up on their diagnostics and a 'See owners manual' message on the dash has appeared.

If I now bring this to Mercedes, will they still replace the airbag with this showing on the dash / flagging on diagnotics?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Call your MB dealer to schedule a replacement. Because the recall is ancient, they may have to order the necessary parts. You shouldn't let safety issues go unaddressed for over a year.
