Sacrificial wiring pigtail?

When I had my W212 E class I was advised to install “sacrificial wiring pigtails” on the VVT magnet wiring to keep oil from wicking into the wiring harness. Is this necessary on the M274 engine?

TIA

Does the M274 use the same cam position sensor and cam adjuster magnets as the M276 and M278? If yes, then yes. If no, then $50 is still cheap insurance.
