2022 E350
Which is what leads me to your second question. There are too many potential failure points that is causing me to consider trading down my fully optioned E300 and going to a Honda though. My expenses are also overblown in that the cost of labour and parts is generally much higher in Oz than in the US for everything.
the Mercedes tax for servicing, and the potential for out of warranty repairs to bankrupt/cause extremely high expenses is what ownership costs are about. It’s multiplied many times over compared to an economical Japanese vehicle. Even if I had an unlimited rainy day fund for the car, the relative expense compared to a Toyota and Honda here will make it like frivolously throwing time and good money away. It’s unconscionable and I won’t be able to live with myself for doing that.

(To op: the North American E350 was marketed worldwide as the E300. The non-NA facelifted E350s are equipped with the integrated starter generator and EQ Boost mild hybrid system which the E300 does not have.)
