Check Engine Light

A few months ago my check engine light came on. Talked to my service rep and he told me to check the fuel cap. Tried that and light went away
Shortly thereafter it came on again. Took it to the dealer and it appears to be a problem with a number of this model. Part has been ordered but there is several months back ordered. I’ve been waiting 2 months now. I don’t remember what the part is, but they say it won’t hurt the car? Anyone else?

Just a suggestion: email and/or call your dealer, get the part name and number and then re-post.
