MB Wagon Future
Motor 1 reports that the E class wagon will be a historic footnote in the MB line up from 2030. Sadly. We are on our third E class wagon, and IMO it is the best of the lot that we have owned. Alas sagging sales figures seem to have produced a planned extinction.
So line up Ladies and Gents, those of you who enjoy and appreciate these fine wagons. Not many CPOs left out there that are not cladded in the AT, which is just not as pure a look as the real estate. The new Estate selling in Europe is quite nice, would that it would be brought here before it phases out, I can assure you I would be in line for one!

That article is 2.5 years old. It was discussed here at the time of publication...
I did my part and bought a new W213. Went to look at the W214 this morning at a huge So Cal dealership and the salesman didn't even know it was available as a wagon. I've said it before on here...Mercedes has no interest in selling German-made wagons...SUVs made in Alabama are much more profitable...and they need to move EVs for CAFE compliance...so that's what they push.
I did my part and bought a new W213. Went to look at the W214 this morning at a huge So Cal dealership and the salesman didn't even know it was available as a wagon. I've said it before on here...Mercedes has no interest in selling German-made wagons...SUVs made in Alabama are much more profitable...and they need to move EVs for CAFE compliance...so that's what they push.

^ Perhaps that is still true, but the EV push and adoption is much greater in the EU than here. MB seems to be running the ICE E-class out after the W214 generation...wagon and all...expecting the various EQE blobs to replace them.

Yeah, and they (the Germans) shut down all their nuke plants counting on cheap Russian natural gas...how did that work out for them? Only time will tell.
