Air suspension behavior, normal or not?

Hi all,
I recently picked up a new 2023 E450 All-Terrain. Just crossed 1,000 miles. I've noticed something quite strange but not sure it's normal or not. Almost every time when I come to a stop light for longer than 15sec, the front suspension would raise up automatically and abruptly. When I say abruptly, I mean it would go up much faster than the normal height setting when adjusting/selecting different drive-modes. When the car sits still, the front end always looks about 10 to 15mm lower compare to the rear. That's about the same distance of travel of what I felt so the car would be leveled when that happens.

There's no error message. Before I contact dealers, I'd like to know if anyone has experience the same. Any insight would be very helpful and greatly appreciated!

I didn't see any responses to this, but I experience the same thing. I guess it's normal. I just done understand why its doing that.

Doesn't sound right. Could it be that you've a leak and the braking accelerates it necessitating a lift while stationary?

One would think there would be a code with it though.

mgenigma5 and YYC53,

Thank you for your replies. The main point of my post is to ask if anyone else is experiencing the same behavior. Since mgenigma5 is experiencing the same, I would think perhaps it's normal. Not sure but more data point the better. Wish others can share their experiences.

YYC53,

Yes I would agree if there's anything at least there should be a code, but doesn't. Also, the speed of the lift I feel is definitely doesn't feel like the suspension is leaking and the pump is working to get it to level.

I don't have this problem though my car has the AMG suspension. If you feel it's not normal from what it was before, then I would take it back to the dealer so they can look at it and also log the complaint.

I pulled up to a stop light today with the suspension in the lifted mode and noticed the system add a couple little pulses of light while stopped. E53 '20

This happens to me somewhat often. I didn't think much of it until I had a suspension fault with a warning to not exceed 50mph. After it was "fixed", I felt like it happened less.

After being gone for 8 months, the suspension fault briefly returned (it cleared itself, which didn't happen the first time). The service department tells me there are some known issues with the air suspension, including that it needs to be well aligned or it can have problems.

When it goes in next week, they will be on phase 3 of the Mercedes plan for dealing with this fault.

Not saying yours is having problems, just what happened to me. Good luck!
