Ambient lightning problem

2017 M-B E400 4Matic Wagon AMG-Line
I've only been on this forum for 10 months and this is maybe the 4th thread on this topic. Rather than telling you to search (you should) here's the most common fix:
I'll bet you had your cabin air filter changed recently.
The ambient light failure started at that time.
There is a wire connector under the trim panel above the passenger footwell that has to be removed in order to get at the cabin air filter.
I'll bet that wire wasn't re-connected or if it was, it wasn't fully seated in the connector.
Reconnect that wire and if you think it is connected, give a tug and you'll likely find that it wasn't. It needs to click into place. You should hear the click but you can definitely feel it.
If you search, you might even find pictures of what you're looking for.
