Clicking Noise on Cold Start
Clicking Noise on Cold Start
Hope everyone is doing okay and hope this post finds you all well.
I have been having some issues lately with my E300 M274 engine when I turn on the car. This seems to happen only on cold starts. Car turns on okay but after about 10-15 seconds I hear some clicking noise that seem to be coming from the left side of the engine (drivers side). it clicks about 3 times most of the time, sometimes it can click about 7 or 8 times. I also don't think it's something inside of the engine as it runs immaculately. Oil changes every 3,000-5,000 miles, let it warm up before driving, etc.
Here is the link to a video I captured of the noise. I know the lifters on the M274 are annoying and that's all you'll be able to probably hear, but the clicking sound is there if you listen close enough:

I have also replaced my evap/PCV system not too long ago, so I don't think it's anything having to do with that. But it could be at fault as parts do fail prematurely. Does this sound like something with the PCV system or does anyone have any ideas? Any input will be greatly appreciated!
