Oil in writing harness?
I had lunch with a friend yesterday and the topic of cars came up. He has the same 2019 E300 that I do. I mentioned that my car had just hit 60,000 miles and he told me because of wiring harness wicking I needed to have the camshaft solenoids and sensors replaced and have sacrificial harnesses installed between the solenoids and the wiring harnesses.
I had it done when I had a W212 with the 276 engine. Is it necessary to do it on my 274 engine?

It would be worth keeping an eye on your cam sensors EVERY oil change if you’re a DIY’er
As you can see in this thread above from Reddit, BMW and Subaru among others, also having issues with oil wicking….

Those pigtails are good at isolating the oil (at least temporarily). But we still want to keep an eye on the sensors themselves.
At least it buys some time…..
