2019 E class rear brake replacement

I wish need to replace my rear pads on my W213 pretty soon. A few quick questions for those folks that have any answers, which will be very much appreciated. My understanding is the with the ignition on, the parking brake needs to be released, the rear brake fitting position needs to be selected and the ignition needs to be left in the “on” position until the job is done at which time you can select the fitting position and then pump the brakes after which you can engage the parking brake. Also, my car is 7 years old, do you think the “floating pins” need to be cleaned and regreased. Again thanks for all of your replies.
