W213 Cluster Keeps Resetting to KM — Need to Lock to Miles Without Triggering Mileage
I have a 2020 Mercedes E350d (W213 facelift) showing 93,000 miles. The car was possibly clocked before I bought it.
The issue I’m facing is that the instrument cluster keeps switching back to KM after every restart, even though it was SCN coded to miles. It reprograms itself back, and I suspect there’s a region mismatch between the KI (cluster), DTA (telematics), and PTCU (drivetrain).
I’m trying to get this sorted without replacing the cluster or triggering a full VIN/mileage sync, which could potentially pull the real (higher) stored mileage from other modules.
I’ve heard this can be fixed using DTS Monaco or Vediamo by:
- Locking the vehicle’s regional coding to UK
- Disabling fallback/sync from the DTA module
- Forcing MPH display and stopping it from reverting to KM
Has anyone here successfully done this? Or can confirm it’s possible without syncing the stored mileage?
Any help or coder recommendations would be massively appreciated. I’m based in the UK and willing to travel to get it done properly.
