48V Software Update - Campaign 202505001
Has anyone else received the notice to have the dealer perform a software update and if so, have you had it done?
When I called to make an appointment, they said they weren't ready and I would be receiving a second notice, which sounds odd.

This is how Honda does things. NHTSA requires them to send out recall notices in a timely manner, even if they don't have the parts. I had a 2-year-old recall (replace a faulty part) when I sold a Honda Ridgeline. I sold it back to the dealer so they would have to do the part replacement before they could re-sell it. In this case, it sounds like they know they need to do an update but the update hasn't been debugged or whatever they do with software nowadays.

If you read the forum you will see lots of complaints about the 48 v problem. The car will hut down anywhere with no notice. It happened to me four times. I plan to leave MB because of the uncertainty of knowing where and when the car shuts down. When it happens it is hard to put the car in neutral; so you can move it on a flat bed. To go in for service. If this update fixes the problem go for it.

Got the notice a couple of weeks ago ('21 E450 All Terrain Wagon) - called the dealer and set the appt. SA advised that it could take anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on how long the download would take, so they gave me a loaner.
Wasn't experiencing any issue prior to the software and it's been fine since.
