TMPS Sensors

Anyone use aftermarket Bosch (or other brand) TPMS sensors? Any luck/issues with using them?

I don’t want to pay $300+ for OEM Mercedes TPMS sensors, and found these Bosch equivalent ones on FCP Europe. The thing that I like the most is that they’re aluminum and not the rubber ones (Mercedes OEM are aluminum as well.

id love to hear experiences from others on this matter and how hard they were to install or if your Indy shop had any issues with them.

Tpms.com -- enter your vehicle specs. I bought Huf sensors for my X7 and they worked fine.

Small trick

discount tire sells the sensors. They come with free installation.

with that, they price match. I’ve gotten several sets of tpms sensors installed at Amazon prices through discount tire.

most of the time it’s in conjunction with new tires but a couple times it wasn’t and they still price matched it. No additional fee for install.

one location tried to charge me for install after the fact but corporate corrected and I was refunded.

I'm having a new set of tires installed on my Rubicon next week at DT. DT's price for TPMS sensors is $63/ea. I bought a set of 4 online for $23/ea. I know DT price matches, but it annoys me they don't just price competitively to begin with.

As others have noted, no need for OEM TPMS sensors. Just check the transmit frequency (IIRC there's 2 standards). I had new ones installed at Towne Fair Tire (not a great shop BTW) and they worked fine. Don't know what brand but I think I paid $42 per sensor with installation.

I ordered mine from tpms.com. They list 3 brands for my Rubicon -- TSSsensor ($20/ea), Huf ($23/ea), and Schrader ($50/ea - listed as OEM). I bought the Huf since I've used them before.

I went ahead and ordered the HUF ones since they're aluminum like the OEM Mercedes/Schrader TPMS Sensors, and because they're somewhat better quality than anything else out there.

I used HUF brand TPMS' for my Cayman S when they needed replacing 2 years ago. They are a good brand. And they don't require a 36 month finance plan like the ones from the dealer do.

I have been quoted £87 each in my local garage, and not even being OEM............

I have bought 4 for £27 on ebay, YES 4..... they work fine, unless going over 60mph, then the signal is lost, and comes back when I slow down.
No need for coding either.......

I got mine from Tire Rack when I bought new tires from them. No problems after 1-1/2 years. The price for all four was under $100.
