Hi everyone. I am about ready to do a major overhaul on most internal parts on my M274 engine. I got everything I need for torque specs and info when it comes to putting parts back together, and when it comes to timing the engine. I however cannot for the life of me get the following info:
1. The "camshaft bearing caps" or the two parts that hold the camshaft into place. What is the torque spec for these if there is one? Since I cannot find anything in any of the service manuals, could it be just that it's bolted down until it's snug? I've uploaded an image and the camshaft bearing caps are circled in red to help identify what i'm talking about.
2. Second question is: Since i'm replacing the camshafts I also ordered and will be replacing the Roller Rocker Arms, I have to replace the "tappets" or "Hydraulic Lifters". Do the lifters have to be bled/primed/soaked in oil before they go into the engine? I've reused my old lifters on a different M274 I've rebuilt and I didn't have any issues, but those were used and not new.
