2018 Black E400 Wagon (Round 2!)

Hi All,

I am back, in a better wagon after a very annoying experience with a distracted kid who made an unsafe lane change and pinched me in between his car and the guardrail, effectively totalling out my wagon.
I was on the lookout for a new one, and my criteria was quite simple. AMG Line, Black Package and something that was better optioned then my White one (which in the grand scheme of things, wasn't that much).
After about 2.5 weeks of searching a Black 2018 popped up in Connecticut, and after a very good buying experience and once everything got sort of finalized with Insurance, I purchased it. I drove it home from CT to Texas and it was a hell of a drive but the car made it be tolerable. The Massage Seats for sure were nice and helped my legs and back from cramping up. I averaged 70mph and 30.5 mpg for that 1,700 mile trip.

Onto the pictures of when I first bought it:

Below is the Monroney for the car, and I must say, it didn't feel like a compromise, and even though the experience with totaling out the white one was not great, this one is a much better car in every way.

Heres the link to the old one and the most recent picture prior the accident (where it looked perfect in my opinion):

This is how it looks as of today:

Ne wwit

Things that are on the list of mod to be done to this one:

- Window Tint for the Front windows (DONE)
- Exterior Accents (DONE)
- Paint Factory AMG Line Night Package Wheels (DONE)
- Suspension (H&R again or Coilovers)
- Refinish BBS CI-R from White car and put on the Black Car
- Exhaust + Tune

I will do a thread for each of the items, as there is some learnings to do for all of them.

Love these cars, I probably should have looked harder for one before I bought my C400, but time was of the essence. Maybe someday!

I haven't really been very active on here for a but just a small few updates:

- Burger Motorsports Intakes Installed
- Custom Exhaust (although fine tuning the tone in progress)
- EuroCharged ECU Tune

Did a big maintenance day on it too to make sure before i introduced such a big increase in power it would be all good mechanically.

Eurocharged tune has definintely opened up a lot of power on the car.
I will make a post with more in depth later.

Next big project on it is to do a full paint correction. My wife has been driving the wagon around and unfortunately her office is like a watering hole for Birds to crap all over the cars, and there were a few that were on there for a little longer then I thought.

Congratulations on the wagon. I too have a 2018 E400 wagon (in white, with Macchiato beige full leather interior). I noticed a couple things that are different on your car. First, the dash looks like the digital dash that came out in 2019 with the E450. On mine, the dash dials are mechanical. I don't have the buttons on the wood on the left side of the steering wheel like you do.The AMG design was a no-cost option. You could get either the "luxury trim" with the stand-up hood ornament or the AMG styling package. (which is what I have) Rear seat heating was not available when I ordered my car (but rear airbags were and I have them). I ordered my car in October, 2017, so I guess it was probably built in early December, 2017, because it was delivered in mid-January, 2018. Yours must be a later build.

I'd love to hear more about what you did for the exhaust.

The white one was the old one that got totalled. Also had the manual gauges. The Black one has the full display as well as is the reason for THIS thread.

You can see the link on the Polar White one here, which will look similar to what you have:
