W213 Driver Side Mirror Wind Whistling Noise

W213 Driver Side Mirror Wind Whistling Noise

I recently had my driver side mirror housing assembly replaced due to the mirror glass vibrating on 2021 E63 and ever since then I’ve noticed a whistling noise from the wind at 55+ mph.
I brought it back to the dealer and they replaced a seal in the triangle portion of the mirror housing assembly and the door trim seals, but the whistling noise is still there and unchanged. They also taped various parts of the mirror assembly, windshield, driver door, etc and cannot get the whistle to go away.
Something tells me that it might be a defective mirror housing assembly with tolerances that are slightly off and reacting with the airflow causing the noise, or simply that the assembly was not put back together and installed correctly. Inspecting it visually from the outside, everything does look flush and identical to the passenger side which has no issues.
Has anyone else had this issue and any luck fixing it? It looks like this appears to be a common problem on other models including the GLE and AMG GT 4 door, with both models having open TSBs. I did not see any TSBs for the W213.

Can't help much, but to point out that most side mirror assemblies are different left and right. I would find another E 63 and make sure you have the right assembly. If so, ask the dealer to replace with another one as this one is obviously defective in some way. They may have changed the design and a used one may work better.I had an audi years ago with this problem and applied tape to the small gap between the door and the mirror base. Did the trick.

I appreciate the advice. The car is back at the dealer now and I pushed for a more thorough diagnosis and will also push them to replace the entire assembly, while also making sure they're putting everything back together carefully. A lot of newer cars are finicky about how everything clips back together.
