I'm a first time Mercedes owner I'm trying to make sense of something regarding region change and map update.
In the past I owned BMW, AUDI, VW, and was doing all the updates myself so I was quite confident that I can do it on the Mercedes too.
I am trying to change the region from South Korea to Europe and install maps, but I'm hesitant even after reading through the forum that I'll break something.
Can someone help me out or point me in the right direction, here are my vehicle details:
All procedures depend on the car model, and what you're looking for specifically.
If it's purely the map, you will need to do some physical modifications to the head unit which could result in the head unit breaking if not done right.
I'd recommend purchasing a replacement head unit (European, of course) from ebay or other online stores, this will give you access to all the standard european feautres.
Once installed you will require
- Antitheft pin to activate
- Coding
- Map installation usb and license key
All this can be done by yourself or I can help you using a Windows PC and a Tactrix Openport 2.0 interface
