"Clicking" noise from front end during acceleration 4MATIC
2018 E400 Wagon 4MATIC here, 65k miles. I'm hearing a slight clicking noise at low speeds during acceleration when i have my driver's side window down. Doesn't appear to be dependent on steering wheel position (turning vs straight). It happens from about 0-20 mph, then goes away. It feels metallic, very soft noise... I will attempt to upload a video showing this as it's hard to describe/diagnose. I was wondering if anyone might have experienced something similar. I've had the wheels off the car recently and everything is solid in the front end, brakes are good... So i was thinking maybe there's an issue with the 4matic? CV axles? not really sure, wanted to post here and see if anyone had any thoughts. Thanks. Pic for attention...

Clicking noise I would inspect the cv axle boots for damage and signs of leaking grease. I had a damaged boot last year on my W204 and the grease looked like peanut butter. The grease seemed to lose its stickiness and was wiped off the metal parts cleanly unlike new cv axle grease that sticks to everything. I caught it early enough where there were no noises so I was able to just replace the boots.
Clicking could also be the wheel bearing. Looking at the parts diagram it looks like an easy job to replace with just 4 bolts and the entire hub with bearing comes off unlike other 4matics where the wheel bearing is pressed into the wheel carrier.
Check your tire tread for small rocks stuck in the tread. They can make a pretty loud clicking noise.

I bought an inexpensive auto stethoscope that picks up abnormal noises.
