Wink "Clicking" noise from front end during acceleration 4MATIC

Hi all,
2018 E400 Wagon 4MATIC here, 65k miles. I'm hearing a slight clicking noise at low speeds during acceleration when i have my driver's side window down. Doesn't appear to be dependent on steering wheel position (turning vs straight). It happens from about 0-20 mph, then goes away. It feels metallic, very soft noise... I will attempt to upload a video showing this as it's hard to describe/diagnose. I was wondering if anyone might have experienced something similar. I've had the wheels off the car recently and everything is solid in the front end, brakes are good... So i was thinking maybe there's an issue with the 4matic? CV axles? not really sure, wanted to post here and see if anyone had any thoughts. Thanks. Pic for attention...

check cv joints as they will make clicking sound as they fail

Bad CV axles usually click when making low speed turns. Test in a parking lot and perform some turns in both directions to rule the CV axle out.

Might take a look at your wheel speed sensors and tone ring to see if there good?

The magnetic ring for wheel speed is in the wheel bearing, typical with 4matics. It cannot be replaced separately. Doubt it is the cause of the clicking as theres no mention of abs warnings indicating a fault with the sensor.

Clicking noise I would inspect the cv axle boots for damage and signs of leaking grease. I had a damaged boot last year on my W204 and the grease looked like peanut butter. The grease seemed to lose its stickiness and was wiped off the metal parts cleanly unlike new cv axle grease that sticks to everything. I caught it early enough where there were no noises so I was able to just replace the boots.

Clicking could also be the wheel bearing. Looking at the parts diagram it looks like an easy job to replace with just 4 bolts and the entire hub with bearing comes off unlike other 4matics where the wheel bearing is pressed into the wheel carrier.

This noise is happening when driving straight or turning, anytime between 30-35 MPH. Maybe there are just some pebbles stuck under there resonating at that speed...

I have replaced a half dozen wheel bearings and none of them clicked when failing. They always create a whirring noise which will be louder when turning the wheel in the direction opposite the bad bearing.

Check your tire tread for small rocks stuck in the tread. They can make a pretty loud clicking noise.

My hub clicked when the tone ring broke last year, that why I suggested inspecting it, maybe not the most likely, but possible

I agree, a broken tone ring clicks because the plastic hits other components on the knuckle assembly and could very well be an issue. That's separate from a failing wheel bearing which in my experience, does not click. I've been working on cars for 40 years but admittedly have limited experience with MB having just acquired a used one. I wouldn't want the OP changing out a hub if it wasn't confirmed to be the source.

Me either, that's why I suggested it as a second possibility if the CV joints on the axle were ok,

Definitely not a wheel bearing. I’m going to look into the tone ring. Also thinking there might be some rocks stuck somewhere and they happen to resonated at a particular speed (in my case, only 30-35 mph)

I would jack up the front end from the middle jacking point on the front axle carrier. Spin each wheel to listen for any noises. If nothing remove each wheel and start checking everything to see if its loose. Check for torn cx axle boots, sway bar link boots. Check to see if the brake dust shields are bent or rubbing. While spinning the wheel hubs feel for anything binding.

I bought an inexpensive auto stethoscope that picks up abnormal noises.
