Rear wiper issue

Hi fellow MB drivers!

Have been lurking this forum for some years, and finally registered to be able to post.

I drive a 2019 W213 wagon, PHEV. Overall great car, though not without it's share of downsides...

I have a peristant issue with my rear wiper. Sporadically (and typically more common when the weather is warmer) the rear wiper can't find it's parking position, and hence just swirls back and forth before it stops at any random place.
Then it's not working for 5 minutes after which it can be triggered again - with the same behaviour.
Some times it finds the parking position eventually, and sometimes after the car has been sitting for a while it goes back to parking position by itself.

The wiper motor has been replaced, and the issue seemed to disappear for some time, but now it's becoming more more common again.

I'm not, at least not at this point, too excited handing it to an MB workshop, since I believe that they will only conclude that it's the motor yet again and have it replaced (car is not under any warranty) - which I don't think will fix it.

I have been fiddling with the connector a little bit, but doesn't seem to resolve it. What I haven't done is to tear down the wiring harness further, at least not yet.

Could it be related to some wiring? Any ideas?

Thankful for any input, if someone have had similar issues etc!

Wiper park positions are usually controlled by a switch integral to the motor. Your problem sounds like intermittent wiring caused by damage to the cable or connector between the fuse block/SAM and the wiper motor.

Thanks for your reply. This makes sense I guess but I have no obvious idea on how to troubleshoot.. Anyone sitting on a wiring diagram by any chance?
