Just ordered (W214)

Can someone create the new container for W214?

we just got back from the dealership from ordering the new E class. They actually had a Build, that was due to close next month, that we took allocation of. It’s an E450, in Moonlit White, with almost every option. Super screen of course. The only thing we didn’t get was the rear axle steering package. Didn’t think it was necessary. Our dealer told us that when the build closes March 13, that they will know they have all parts to build the car. Has anybody had a situation where your build closed, and then they were missing Something? Be disappointed if the car showed up missing something like home link. However, it looks like Homelink is part of the mirror, and I would imagine it could be replaced at the dealership.

Just an opinion to share. I never needed rear axle steering in an E-Class sized car. Now that I have it on my EQE, I'll not pass on it again if offered. U-turns are insane. The crab walk in and out of tight parallel parking spots is also amazing.

Hopefully your car will have Homelink. Otherwise, you might be able to install it when it becomes available. I'm assuming they'll come out with a kit that can be retrofitted. If not, you might be able to buy a new mirror with Homelink and then just swap mirrors. There's got to be power up where the mirror is so that it can dim electronically. A car stereo shop should be able to install it if the dealer's price for labor is too high.

Looks like a great build. I am on a similar timeline with an E450 and expect the car to arrive to the dealership late April.

Quick question: What finish is your center console? Did it default to gloss black or were you able to choose wood, silver etc..

Homelink was only missing on early production "showroom unit" cars which are built before any custom or dealer order cars are built (for the W214 this was Sept/Oct 2023). I have not seen any later built cars missing homelink. I'm not even sure it was parts shortages as much as the standard mbusa configurations just didn't have it and were set before it was confirmed that would be a standard feature.

That is an excellent question, the same one that I had as well. When you put your build in, if you see 753 Natural Grain Black Ash Wood Center Console that is the default center console you get with the superscreen. I would ask your dealer to verify, I did, as it was NOT on my build sheet. There is a mention of this code 12H black piano lacquer trim, however that refers to the trim around the superscreen.

I came to the same realization. I started looking at the dealership's that received early cars, and noticed the credit on the build sheets. However cars that are starting to arrive now don't show any missing parts, or credits so far. I am guessing for this rollout to customers that have put their names on the builds, Mercedes has all necessary parts. It would be a bad for them to showcase a new model and have that negative experience.

Thanks a lot for clarifying this. My build sheet shows 12H, but not 753. I’ll speak to my sales advisor about this next time I swing by my dealership.

Once you talk to your sales advisor, can you either reply here, or send me a message so that I know the final answer.

Circling back around to this, my advisor just so happened to call me (I swear he must read the forum lol).

Amongst other things discussed, he confirmed the aforementioned: Code 12h refers to the trim around the superscreen and 753 (Natural Grain Black Ash Wood) falls under standard options.

This is a great relief to me, as my experience with gloss black center consoles is that they may look nice; but don't age well.

We were just told that the car we ordered received a VIN number and that closes the build with all options. None were missing in our build, and this showed up on the final sheet - 753 Natural Grain Black Ash Wood Center Console. So very excited.
