Came across this on Youtube, saw the dual Mercedes stars on the tail light and instantly recognised it as the new W214.
Reportedly the woman left the roadway and flipped, colliding with a tree whilst the vehicle was sliding on its roof. Driver was trapped between the roof and the seat according to reports, but wasn't seriously injured.
Goes to show how safe this thing is, crashing against a tree with the roof and surviving is quite astounding.
Wow! I can't believe the driver survived that. Hard to look at. Where is this? I wouldn't think in the US as I thought the wagon is not available in the US yet.
I doubt a Chinese or Japanese car make could be able to do its job given that that much : protecting the occupants car vs tree . Despite such safety systems how on earth a smart car like this could involve in an accident like that is beyond me . Probably auto braking must have been turned off
Anyway, nice to see the driver is OK but more importantly the lessons should be learnt as well
