E/W214: 2025 Order Guides
We (my wife and I) recently left the "world of Jaguars", for various reasons, and moved over to the Mercedes-Benz brand, about 3 months ago. We traded our F-Pace Jag in, on a GLE 450, and simply sold our XJ-L sedan, with no immediate plans to replace it. However, I've been "jonesing" to have a sedan back in the garage, and I've been thinking about an E Class. If I understand correctly, you folks are saying that I can place an order for one, now, and it will be a 2025 model?
Thanks for any information that you can provide!
Based on our conversation, it appeared that point in time was right on the cusp of 2024 ordering/production ending, and 2025 ordering soon commencing. I'm playing games with what I can move around within my 401K investment accounts, in order to cover the cost of the car, so I couldn't say, "OK, let's place an order", right at that point. I'm in a better position, I think, in the present, however I'm also weighing an order based on when a delivery would actually occur. I have no plans on driving the E Class, should I buy one, in the winter. Therefore, if I order relatively soon, and can get it by mid-late November, I'd be comfortable with that. If that's not doable, I'd be thinking of ordering later on, maybe in January.
With respect to what dealer to do business with, there's only one M-B dealer in my metropolitan area, and on top of that, it's at the diagonally opposite side of the county in which I live. Because of that, the dealer is located about 24-25 miles from my home. The next closest dealers are about 60-65 miles away, respectively. There's absolutely no way I'd be travelling that far, just to buy a car. So, if my local dealer has an allocation spot available, I'll be tempted to make the move. If not, oh well. I'm not trying to be a "pompous azz", it's just that another car isn't something I really need. It would be very nice to have it, but I don't NEED it..........
Yes, the information above, is correct, orders taken now, are for 2025 models. While I can realistically afford an E450, I'm not exactly rich, either, so a "fully loaded" E450 is both beyond my budget, as well as having far more "bells and whistles" than I really care to have. Consequently, I've been doing an "inventory search", using the database on the M-B corporate website, to find something that I'd like, as well as be within my budget. Seems that I found a car that I like, at a dealership that's a little over 200 miles from where I live. My local dealer says that's a reasonable distance to work with, if the other dealer agrees to do a trade with them.
If not, I guess I'll be looking at a 2025, but the $2500 price bump will be a tough pill to swallow. I'd also be concerned about a delivery date, as I don't plan on driving this car in the winter, so I'd have to plan my order time, so it arrived either fairly soon, or early spring.
I did some looking a found a couple of 24 e 450 that would work but my dealer did not do
dealer trades. I didnt want to mess with driving far off and try to work a trade. Now they
did have a quick allotment that would have just been a month off for e450 that could be
changed to my specs. Thinking with the price increase did i really want to spend 90K
on a sedan that wasnt sure liked the driving position. They had no SUV's in the GLC or
GLE line, So would be ordering. I just went and got me a 24 X5. I've have numerous BMW
and X5 so knew would be satisfied. In 4 when trade at warranty end look at mercedes again.

I’m hoping the 429 is correct, but doubtful.

My dealer has no 2024s on hand, and the several others that they located, within a reasonable distance of us, to make a trade feasible, are "heavily loaded" cars, well into the mid $80K range, and that's just too rich for me, as well as having added, complicated electronics that I just don't want to deal with. So, it appears that "Plan B", for me, is to consider a 2025 model, and just absorb the price bump. My dealer did locate a 2025 at another dealer, but between the price bump, plus the added option packs that it has, over what I want, adds roughly $4K to the window sticker, as well as the additional $350 of local sales taxes, and at this point in time, it takes it out of reach for me. I'm retired, therefore I don't have a paycheck coming in each week, so I have to exercise some restraint once in a while.
However, I'm holding out, at least for a while, that a miracle occurs, and the other two "buyers" for the 2024 that I like, will both decide to step up to a 2025, and I will then be able to purchase the 2024. We'll see........
The car has 375 HP. Anything indicating 429 is an error.
2025 E450 4Matic Sedan with 429 HP @ 6100 rpm and 413 lb-ft @ 1,800-5,800 rpm with hybrid assist
2025 E450 4Matic All-Terrain with 375 hp @ 5,500-6,100 rpm and 369 lb-ft @ 1,600-4,500 rpm with mild hybrid drive
2025 GLE450 4Matic SUV with 375 hp @ 5,500-6,100 rpm and 369 lb-ft @ 1,600-4,500 rpm with mild hybrid drive
The S class version shows 442 hp @ 5,800-6,100 rpm and 413 lb-ft @ 2,200-5,00 rpm with mild hybrid drive and electric auxiliarycompressor
This begs the question "What's the difference between hybrid assist and mild hybrid drive?"

Correct.
