Memory Parking disabled in US

I understand that the memory and remote parking features are disabled, though other automatic parking features are. Does anyone know if this is viewed as a transient regulatory approval issue or is this permanent? Are these regulations Federal or State? I'm in California.

I have not heard this before. My 2024 E350 has the feature, but I have not tried it yet. I'll give it a try soon to see if it actually works.

By the way, where did you hear this from?

My dealer's product concierge. Its described in the user manual, which suggests they believe it will be available, but he said its currently not allowed in the US, though this may just mean its not allowed in California.

It's too bad because I have a ridiculously narrow driveway and it would be nice to have the car navigate up to the parking spot based on sensors. The top down view is helpful but I also wish I could get the bumper level front and back camera views directly on the screen.

when you are close enough to obstacles, the top down along with front and rear camera come on. At least it does for me.

Well, I turn the parking cameras on manually as I approach, but what I would love is the side camera views left and right to gauge my clearance since I have only a foot or so of space on either side, with the center rear mounted camera its a little challenging to perceive clearance I find.

You can use a routine to turn the cameras automatically based on GPS location. I have a very long driveway and I have it set where it turns on automatically about 200ft before I get to my garage. Doesn't solve all your needs but it can help.

In fact, I think you can specify what side to turn on. Cant remember all the options at the moment.

You can use the buttons on screen below the camera views to turn on 3D + left side or 3D + right side, but not both sides at once.

I am in NY and we don't have either of these features. The parking record feature isn't included in MBUX and our APP doesn't have the remote option. My salesman says it is US regulation, but seems strange as I think Hyundai has had a remote parking feature. Hopefully at some point MB will activate this with a software update. We also don't have the full feature of intelligent headlights. Another US regulation issue. On my W213, I had mine coded by a firm in the UK and they were great. I am waiting a few months and will probably have them do this to my W214..
